Curriculum & Philosophy

Our program is designed to provide for the child's emotional, physical, social and spiritual development with the added dimension of Christian love and care.

With a Christian focus, students grow in a sense of conscience, morality and values. We stress the importance of self-respect to help students make responsible decisions; even in the midst of strong peer pressure. Students focus on relationships with friends, adults, family and God. Each day is structured to provide time for group activities and individual projects; energetic movement and reflection; teacher-led and child directed activities.

Resources are provided for self-expression in creative arts and play, to develop a basis for language arts, social studies, health, science, math, music and Bible. Bible truths are taught through Bible lessons, stories, songs, informal conversation, chapel and scripture memory.

We will provide a highly competent staff that will be role models of the Christian life and nurture a life-long love of learning. Our teaching staff is made up of teachers who have a great deal of experience and are licensed by the New Mexico Department of Education, even though we do not need to have licensed teachers as a private school.
Our teachers will focus on success as the child's building blocks for learning and for developing Christian character. Our students are encouraged to grow in trust, independence and initiative. We acknowledge that learning is sequential and happens at different times according to each child's growth an maturity. The A Beka Curriculum is introduced in preschool classes and used throughout the Academy.
